{Re} Connect the Mindbody

What is Neurosomatic Yoga?

Neurosomatic Yoga (Neuro; science of the brain & nervous system and soma; body) is a trauma informed practice that combines the intellect of Neuroscience and somatic experiences which is an ancient shamanic practice; a beautiful union of Ancient and Modern Wisdom.

NSY is a Mindbody alignment practice that provides the tools and support to heal your deepest wounds on every level.

The practice goes beyond a standard asana class and incorporates Mindfulness through movement, Breathwork, Meditation & visualization, Sound & creative self expression and Subtle movement practices like Qi Gong, gentle yoga poses and Resistance Training to create a fully embodied experience with a quantum healing effect.

This approach to yoga is highly effective in relieving chronic pain, improving bodily function, and recovering from common musculoskeletal conditions. Through sensory-motor education we can also improve motor control, coordination, and repattern learned patterns of tension. This practice allows for a fully embodied experience and deep dive into ones consciousness with a profound effect towards personal growth and embodied healing.

NSY can provide life changing experiences and positively affect all Four Dimensions of wellness & wellbeing.

The ones who seek to evolve and change

Those who define their experiences by their spouses

Those who believe they need permission

The ones who struggle to connect with themselves or their bodies

The ones who ache; physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually from a place they cannot explain

The ones who want answers for questions they cannot seem to find words for

Those who feel alone in a crowd

Those who are ready to be Seen, heard, and Experienced

Those who are looking to be found;

The ones who seek Themselves.

This is me, Suki

I am an Intuitive. Somatic Healer. Mindfulness Chef. Retreat Host. Yoga Enthusiast. Divine Feminine. Truth Seeker. Lover. Creator.

I used to be an Executive Chef in the restaurant industry in Dallas. I entered the industry fresh out of culinary school, ripe for the picken’. I was a young 18 years old with tremendous drive, passion & perseverance-which took me far at an early age. I am certainly grateful for the experiences and connections that I made along the way.

It wasn’t until a decade into my career that I realized I had discovered a way of life that allowed me to systematically abuse myself in every way- from poor dietary & lifestyle habits, to substance & alcohol abuse, to toxic relationships in every direction; not to mention the toll the kitchen life took on my mind and body.

Sometime around 2020, my unsustainable life collapsed around me as my passion project & restaurant [Mudhen Meat & Greens] closed, among other life stressors that piled on. Like so many during that time, my life was upside down and inside out. I was buried under a pile of insurmountable grief and I found myself desperate for change.

It all started as a slow burn with a 66-day gratitude journal that revolutionized my life around building positive daily habits.

The Gratitude journal was a simple introduction to mindfulness and a way to find appreciation for life as a whole- ups and downs alike. It allowed me to step off the hedonic treadmill of life and begin to create new ways of thinking, which lead to new ways of being.

Radical Self Love has been a process. A process of shedding old habits and patterns to make space for new choices, unlearning and re-learning, healing old wounds, and allowing my authentic self to unfurl.

Through my commitment to daily gratitude, deep healing, NSY, surrender and self study, I have made radical changes to my life.

On a whim, I found myself at a yoga retreat as a solo-female traveler and was completely moved by the experience. I went for reprieve and left with an exit strategy for my former life. More so- I had a plan for a new one.

I found a food adjacent career that allowed me to discover my purpose in life:

To Nourish others with food & fellowship

Along with discovering a new way of being, I discovered wellbeing and a more sustainable way of life.

My mission is to empower others to heal their relationships with themselves.

Many of us struggle with self worth, self image, self care, self…anything. The world will tell you that to love yourself is selfish. It feels selfish at first. To Love yourself isn’t selfish-

It is self preservation.

I look forward to sharing the tools I have collected along my journey and to holding space for you to Love yourself whole.

The Dimensions of Personal Wellbeing

  • Mind / Spirit

The mind is the element used to create and experience your own reality. Mindfulness & presence allow you to manifest your dreams into this world by tapping into your spirit connection. Think of it this way- if the soul is like a computer, then your spirit mind is the wifi that is broadcasting you into this body. By tending to the mind, we can manage the matter.

  • Body / Physical

The physical body is the machine we use to navigate the world. It is what we most readily identify with. The minds thoughts become our actions which becomes who we are in day to day life. By truly connecting with the body, we can explore all of our senses for a deeper human experience. A physical yoga practice is a great way to deepen the mindbody connection.

  • External / Social

The external world is the place where everything outside of the mind exists. It serves as the invitation to get out of your head and into the here and now. As inherently social creatures, we are energy-in-motion (emotion) that thrive on human connection. Retreats are a wonderful place to gather and share in joy, gratitude & peace of mind.

  • Inner Realm / Emotional

Within the inner world lies the authentic self. The self, when understood, is already perfect. Just as any seed of a flower contains the flower in itself in all its magnificence, the self has everything it needs to fulfill its higher purpose. When the inner conditions are right, it naturally emerges, bigger, better, and more abundantly than we can imagine. Tools like meditation and breathwork allow one to find deep inner calm.
